In the historical centre of Tuglie you can admire the typical case a corte,  very common constructions of The Souls' Churchthe Salento. Here you can also see some palaces as Erroi Palace, De Marco Palace  and Tramacere Palace. The most interesting is the Ducal Palace, built in the XVII century on the rests of an ancient fortress. Initially it has a defensive function and later it was turned into a palace. The main façade has  a beautiful front door and inside there is an elegant well decorated after the Renaissance style. Inside there is  the Museum of the Country Civilization and of the  Popular Traditions of the Salento. The most important religious monument is the Mother Church dedicated to the Holy Virgin Mary. It was built  in the XVIII century and it has an imposing façade well decorated with three  front doors, two niches containing the statues of saints and  an ample window. Inside you can admire some elegant Baroque altars  and some interesting paintings. Next  to the Mother Church you can see the Clock Tower, built in 1884, while the bell tower of the church is dated 1831. The Church of St Teresa is very simple: the façade has a simple portal and a beautiful rose window. The Church of the Souls dates back to the XX century, and it was built on an ancient Basilian crypt. The Church of St. Joseph was probably built in the XVIII century and the façade, that was restored in 1952, is very linear and simple as the interiors.  The Sanctuary of the Madonna of Montegrappa was erected in 1933  and it is outside the urban centre. The interiors are very simple and there is an ample stairway with niches containing some sculptures representing  the Passion of Christ. At Tuglie you can also see a subterranean oil-press of the XVIII century, a place dug in the rock where the oil was produced. The protectress of Tuglie is the Holy Virgin Mary, that is celebrated solemnly on March 25th.

The nickname of the inhabitants of Tuglie is "puricini" that literally means chicks. They are so called Altar of Our Lady of the Annunciation because according to a popular story,  during the feasts people used to sell some boiled eggs, but they were so old  that a chick could be found inside! What is more the civic coat of arms
