OF THE COMMUNE OF MELENDUGNO
The small village of Borgagne is around 4
kilometres from Melendugno. Here you can see a lot of XVI century
 houses
and picturesque case a corte. In the historical centre there is the Parish
dedicated to the Purification of the Madonna: it is an aisless church, it has
got four altars and a portal dated 1611. The Castle of Borgagne is very
interesting from the artistic and historical point of view (there is no paper
about its building). It has got a rectangular plant and it includes a
pre-existing tower dated 1498. Borgange was ruled at first by the Petrarolos,
then by the Zimarra family and finally, in 1616, it passed under the control of
the Spinolas.
